I don’t want to settle
Want someone to sweep me off my feet
And speak it slow that I’m special 
Someone who likes me because 
But then loves me despite 
Despite all of my baggage, the battle scars and the fights
I want love that’s imperfect
But, Perfectly so
For people are made from their shortcomings, their worries and lows
And know I’ll hold you in the same light 
Through your highs and the downers too
I’ll treat your frowns in the same way as a smile for they’re both you
Both grew from a person, who’s split by love and hurting 
We all carry both halves, so want one who loves me and my worst and accepts me for that 
Holds me intact
Don’t want to settle for someone who runs when the going gets bad
Because the going can add the deepest meaning to your life
So find someone who wants your dark days as much as your light

A s I sit here, penning down the thoughts that have weighed heavily on my heart for the past few weeks.  You see, for the past four years, I've poured every ounce of my being into a relationship that, despite my best efforts, seems to have slipped through my fingers. I've given it my all – my love, my sacrifice, my attention, my gifts, and my unwavering support. I've cooked his favorite meals, flown across continents to be by his side, and showered him with affection.  I've called, I've texted, I've been there and here, and I've even gone the extra mile to spice things up in the bedroom – giving him the best make love of his life, making him feel like a king.  Yet, despite all of this, it feels like my efforts have fallen on deaf ears.
