The Heart of Sharing: More Than Just Giving

Growing up, my family instilled in me the importance of sharing, even when times were tough. It wasn’t just about giving away what we had; it was about doing it with love and an open heart. This value shaped the person I am today, and I carry it with me in every aspect of my life. I believe that sharing isn’t just an act—it's a reflection of who we are and the values we hold dear.

Recently, someone suggested that because I love to share, it might mean I don’t know how to hold back, that I give away too much or to anyone who asks. That conclusion took me by surprise. It felt a bit unfair because the decision to share isn’t about lacking control or judgment—it’s about seeing a need and feeling moved to respond. Sharing doesn’t mean handing over everything without thought; it’s about the intention behind each act, a conscious choice to make a positive impact on someone else’s life.

To me, sharing is about more than just the act itself. It's about connection, kindness, and living a life that isn’t centered only on our own needs. It’s an expression of love and empathy, and yes, sometimes it means being generous even when you don’t have a lot to give. But it doesn’t mean I’ll say “yes” to every situation or give away what I can’t afford to lose. It means I choose to open my heart when it feels right, guided by my values and the spirit of giving that I was raised with.

For anyone who feels misunderstood for being generous, remember that your actions reflect the beauty of your heart, not anyone else’s judgments. Sharing is a choice, and it comes from a place of strength, not weakness. It’s about lifting others up while still keeping your feet firmly on the ground. So, share when you can, give with love, and let your actions speak for themselves.
